In Christ Alone

In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless Babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From a life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Could ever pluck me from His hand
Til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I stand
Fullness of God in helpless Babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From a life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Could ever pluck me from His hand
Til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I stand

Tweaked Reality

What I've been doing recently...
So this is Christmas...
And I rather like it. I hold the firm belief that this time of year tends to bring out people's true character. Which is great, but sometimes messy. But I suppose that's just life.
For me, Christmas is all about love. Love for family, friends, people who don't have love in their lives, and most importantly, the love that somehow exceeds all other love combined- the love of a savior. I wish it was Christmas all the time. not because of the material advantages and pleasures (but really, what's wrong with having lights up all year round?) but because of the love.
I'm sorry that sometimes at Christmas, I concentrate on myself and my direct surroundings instead of acknowledging the bigger picture and loving unabashedly. Christ came to love, and I want love like that, be it Christmas time or not.
